Last Thursday marked the end of my second year bouncing around the Irish civil engineering industry like a ping-pong ball in a tumble dryer (thanks to Dilbert for that analogy). So, what, if anything, have I learned in that time? I will present the bullet point summary below, because I am a bullet point summary type of person.
- "Did I say that?" gets you out of most unpleasant situations.
- "I did say Friday, but I didn't say which Friday" gets you out of the rest.
- Don't blame anyone for anything.
- Try not to get blamed for anything, either.
- If it's not documented, it's not done.
- It's not possible to charge enough for your work.
So that's it. Some of it was fun.
If you have been, thanks for reading!

How did I miss this one?
Does the first one not get followed up with 'Yes, you idiot, now sort it out'?
